Terry and Teresa BurtonTerry attended Freed-Hardeman College for two years then transferred to Harding College where he graduated with a BS in Mathematics in 1964. Terry married Betty Dollins, who was his high school sweetheart, in August 1962

Upon graduation from Harding College, Terry began a career in computer software with General Electric in Huntsville, Alabama. His career spanned 43 years working for General Electric, Honeywell, Magnetic Peripherals Inc., E-Systems, Mead Office Systems, Xerox, and Raytheon. He retired from Raytheon on August 31, 2007.

Terry's career took him and his family to Oklahoma City in 1966 and then to the Dallas area in 1975. He led singing in all of the congregations they attended and taught adult Bible classes. Terry and Betty moved their membership to the Mesquite congregation in February 1977. He served as a deacon from 1978 to 1997 in various ministries, primarily fellowship groups and worship. In January 1997, he was ordained an elder by the Mesquite congregation.

After a three-year struggle with breast cancer, Betty died in 2003. With God's blessing and the blessings of their children and grandchildren, Terry and Teresa Bussell (a widow of almost 9 years) were joined together in marriage on July 17, 2004 and now serve the Lord joyfully together with family and friends.

Terry's favorite chapter in the Bible is Philippians 2 and his favorite scripture is Philippians 2:3,4: "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others."
