Jimmy and Beth PittsJimmy was born in Dallas in 1949 and grew up in Oak Cliff, Mesquite and Balch Springs. He graduated from Mesquite High School in 1967 where he played football and ran track. He joined the United States Marine Corps in May of 1968 and graduated from boot camp in July of 1968. He spent four years in the United States Marine Corps, serving one year in Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged in 1972.

In December of 1968, while in the Marine Corps, he married Elizabeth (Beth) Liles, a native of Balch Springs, Texas. They have two children, Vicki Scott of Bowie, Texas and Lance Pitts of Forney, Texas. They have 3 grandsons Dewayne Smith, Brandon and Ethan Krauser and granddaughter Avery Pitts.

Jimmy and Beth were baptized at the Midway Church of Christ of Balch Springs, Texas where they attended with their children. In 1987, along with his parents, they moved their membership to the Mesquite Church of Christ. He was selected as a Deacon in 2010, where he worked in various ministries and was ordained an Elder in 2017. Jimmy enjoys serving and has been involved in the church’s food pantry for several years. Beth is active in the women’s ministry and other church activities.

Jimmy’s parents were faithful members at the Mesquite Church until his father’s death in 2008 and his mother’s move to a nursing home in 2014.
Jimmy worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas for five years and for the Seven Eleven company for 32 years where he retired in 2010 as a project manager. Beth works for USTRust Bank of America as a Specialty Asset Manager and has been at the bank over 40 years.
